Teaching
Having taught and directed in a freelance capacity at various drama schools I became Head of Acting at ALRA (Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) in London in 2004, becoming Co-Director of the school four years later. I was instrumental in transferring the Acting Diploma courses to BA (Hons) and MA programmes which were validated by St Mary’s University Twickenham. With my Co-Director, Adrian Hall, I founded ALRA North in Wigan for which the school won a TMA nomination for services to regional theatre and The Stage 100 Award for school of the year.
I teach: Script analysis, story-telling, improvisation and mask, and audition technique.
I have a PGCE (Post compulsory) in Performing Arts and have a current enhanced DBS certificate
Education
I trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on the Professional Acting Diploma course.
In 2006 I successfully undertook a PGCE at the Institute of Education and went on to complete an MA in Screenwriting at The University of the Arts in 2010.
